If our enrollment continues to stay steady or increase minimally, we will become a two section school for all grade levels.  This will mean we will need to add 3 full time grade level teachers by 2012.  The success or failure of the Kindergarten Academy Pilot program will be a deciding factor in whether or not Valley Springs Elementary will become a two section school.

Staffing Needs and Requests: 

A.    Transfer 3rd Grade teacher to 2nd Grade

 

  B.  Math Specialist (District)..................................................................................... $ 45,000

          Rationale: Due to high emphasis on Math in NCLB, RTI and our NCA goals,

          teachers would benefit from the opportunity to consult with a math specialist.

          The math specialist would also facilitate small group lessons with students

          struggling in the math content area.  In addition the math specialist would

          help coordinate and provide professional development opportunities for teachers.

            The math specialist would split time between all elementary buildings in the district.

          Rationale: Due to the high needs of the Kindergarten Academy students,

          a full time EA is requested to help with management  and small group

          instruction, similar to the Jr. Kind. EA position.  This EA would also help
