David Versteeg

Dave graduated in 1976 from Brandon Valley High School.

On the gridiron, Dave was a three-year letter winner as a wide receiver.  He helped the 1974 Lynx football team to an undefeated season and was named All-Conference as a senior.

His basketball career was marked by being a three-year letter winner, earning All-Conference honors as a senior, and helping his team to qualify for the State Tournament as a junior.

Dave also lettered three times in track and field, making his mark with a Big 8 Conference long jump championship and running on several conference championship relay teams.

Dave continued his football career at Augustana College where he earned 2nd team All-Conference honors and was ranked high in the nation in receptions per game as a senior.  He then signed a professional contract with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.  He then taught and coached football, basketball, wrestling track and volleyball for several years before getting into school administration.
