Brian Tait

Brian graduated from Brandon Valley High School in 1986.

As a two-sport standout, Brian earned a total of seven varsity letters—three in Football and four in Track and Field.

As a standout return man and running back, Brian used his speed and elusiveness to make life miserable for opponents trying to tackle him. As a sophomore, he was the Lynx leading punt and kickoff return man, and he lead the team in every return category. In his junior season, along with continuing his return prowess, Brian added team leader in rushing yards and scoring to his résumé. To prove his diverse ability, he ended his senior season as the team leader in returns, rushing, scoring, and receiving. He helped lead the Lynx to back-to-back State Championships in 1984 and 1985, winning the Joe Robbie Award as the Championship game outstanding player. He set two school records and was named to the All-State and Elite 45 teams as a senior.

As a sprinter on the Track and Field team, Brian also helped his team to back-to-back state championships in 1985 and 1986. He set, or was a part of, several school record-setting performances, and his 4x400 team still holds the school record. As a junior, he was a part of a State Champion and two runner-up relay teams. His senior year saw him win a title in the 400-meter event, while also placing fourth in the 100-meter dash and a relay team third place in the Medley.

Brian’s favorite Lynx memories include being part of those back-to-back State Football and Track and Field team championships.
