Scott Peterson

Scott graduated in 1981 from Brandon Valley High School.

As a three-sport standout, Scott accumulated thirteen varsity letters and left his mark on the record books as a distance runner.  The five-time letterman on the Cross Country team set the McHardy Park Course record for BVHS – a record which still stands in 2012.  He was the Big 8 Conference champion as a sophomore, junior, and senior and finished in the top three at the State Meet twice.  In his senior year he was selected as an All-American and finished 8th at the National Run in Biloxi, Mississippi.

On the track, Scott earned four letters as a 1600 and 3200-meter specialist.  He set school records in both events with times that have stood over the past thirty-plus years.

After running for the Lynx, he took his talents to Augustana College and ran for four years on the cross country and track teams.  Scott set a school record of 3:50 in the 1500 meters and was the NCC Champion in that distance.
