Dan Pansch

Dan was the Brandon Valley Head Wrestling Coach from 1978 to 1990 and the Head Boys' Tennis Coach from 1980 to 1990.

Dan came to Brandon Valley after starting his wrestling coaching career at Hamlin County and Hills-Beaver Creek, and had great success.  During his 12 years he had a career duel record of 105 wins and 39 losses, including two undefeated seasons in 1982-1983 and 1984-1985.  His teams won the Big 8 Conference Tournament title seven times, while never finishing lower than third.  He coached three individual state champions and 54 individual state place winners.

In ten years as the head boys tennis coach, Dan's teams won many more duals than they lost and had only three seasons with a losing record.  He had individuals who had great success and in 1983, his team was second place at the state meet.

Dan went in to administration at BVHS as Assistant Principal, and at BVMS as the principal and left coaching.   However, he stays involved in the wrestling program as the official scorer for varsity meets and the tournament scorer for all large meets.  He helped start the BV Invitational in 1985 and was recognized for his 25 years of involvement in 2009 with the naming of the tournament as the Dan Pansch Invitationl.

Dan's favorite memories of BV athletics center around the many talented athletes that he coached and the outstanding and dedicated coaches that he worked with.
