Jan Kolbrek

Jan graduated in 1960 from Brandon High School.

As a three-sport athlete, he earned twelve letters in football, basketball and track and field.

Jan was a first-team selection to the All-State Eight Man Football Team as a senior.  During his four years of high school football, the Brandon High School team was undefeated against South Dakota opponents and lost only one game – a senior year loss to Hills, Minnesota.

He was an All-Conference basketball player in his senior year and set the Brandon High School Pole Vault record at 11’0”.

After high school, Jan continued his athletic career at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota where he lettered two years in football and one year in track and field.
