Mike Klinedinst

Mike was the Head Football Coach at Brandon Valley High School from 1982 to 1998.

Coach Klinedinst came to Brandon Valley in the fall of 1982 and, building on a solid foundation, propelled the Lynx football program to a perennial power in the Class A ranks and later at the Class AA level.  In 1984, he led the Lynx to the first SDHSAA recognized state championship for Brandon Valley with a 38-8 defeat of Mobridge.  From that point on, his program continued to dominate.  In his 17 years at the helm, his teams were in the Dakota Dome 8 times, winning 6 titles and finishing Runner-Up twice.  On two occasions he had the Lynx in the Dome for back-to-back appearances and one other stretch saw them in the Dome winning three straight titles.

Coach Klinedinst had an overall record of 118 - 64 at Brandon Valley.  He has been inducted into the South Dakota Football and Augustana College Halls of Fame.  He was named South Dakota Football Coach of the Year and served as President of the South Dakota Football Coaches Association.

His favorite Lynx memories include the many players and parents that he had the opportunity to serve and the unmatched loyalty of his assistant coaches.
