Michelle Hewitt-Kaesviharn

Michelle graduated in 1993 from Brandon Valley High School.

As a three-sport athlete, Michelle earned a total of 11 varsity letters – three each in tennis and volleyball and five in track and field.

On the track, Michelle was an outstanding sprinter.  Beginning her high school career as an eighth grader, she broke onto the scene by winning all three individual sprint events at the conference meet and placing third and fourth at the state meet 400 meters and 200 meters, respectively.  Over the rest of her career, she won 11 conference medals – ten of them gold, culminating with another sweep of the individual sprint titles as a senior.  Her 15 state meet medals are a testament to her accomplished career.

Michelle helped to set a school relay record and was invited to participate in the Howard Wood Dakota Relays Special Event two years in a row – a rare and prestigious accomplishment.

She went on to compete at Augustana College, where she was part of several record setting relay teams and was a two-time All-American.

Her favorite Lynx memories include the great friendships, inspirational coaches, and personal qualities developed while competing for BVHS.
