Bob Hoyt

Bob graduated in 1958 from Brandon High School.

 

A three-sport athlete, Bob earned seven varsity letters – three in basketball and two each in football and track and field.  He accomplished several highlights in these sports. 

 

On the football field, Bob was recognized as an All-State performer as a senior.  As a center on the basketball team he had a three-year scoring average of 22.5 and set the rebound record  for one game.  He was named All-State as a senior.  As a discus thrower, he set the school record his senior year.

 

After graduating, Bob entered the Air Force, where he spent eight years on active duty.  Bob was on Air Force championship teams in basketball, volleyball and softball.  He continued his softball career after returning home and won all 15 state championships that he pitched in. 

 

He was inducted into the S.D. Fastpitch Hall of Fame in 2001.
