David graduated in 1991 from Brandon Valley High School.
As a Noseguard and Fullback, David was a three-year letter winner and helped lead the Lynx to three straight football championships in 1988, 1989 and 1990. As a junior and senior, he was named All-Conference, All-State and Elite 45 as a Nose Guard and Fullback, respectively. He was named the Joe Robbie Most Valuable Player in the 1989 and 1990 State Championship games and set the 11AA championship game rushing record in 1990. David set the school rushing record (1,417 yards) and tied the school record for rushing touchdowns in a game (4) as a senior. He was also named the South Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year after his senior season.
David continued his career at Ricks College in Utah.
His favorite Lynx memories include celebrating each Championship game win on the field at the DakotaDome with teammates, coaches, family, and fans. The pre-game locker room blaring of “Thunderstruck” and “Welcome to the Jungle” also bring back a rush of emotions. |
