Welcome to the Brandon Valley Transportation Department The district maintains a fleet of 29 buses and small vehicles that travel 1,100 miles of city and rural routes daily.
Bus Fees: Students living five miles or more from their school will not be charged a fee as per state law. Students requesting transportation within 5 miles of their school will be required to purchase a bus pass.
Bus passes are $75.00 per student, per semester. The semester maximum fee is $175.00 per family.
Open enrolled students who have a pickup and a drop off point out of their assigned attendance boundary as per Board policy will be charged $150 per semester, which does not apply to the family maximum. An open enrolled student who uses a pickup and drop off point within the boundary of the school of attendance will purchase a regular bus pass ($75.00 per semester) and will not be subject to the increased rate.
In order to have transportation on the first day of school, bus passes need to be purchased by August 7, 2013. Students whose bus passes are purchased after August 7, 2013 will not be able to ride the bus until after August 28, 2013.
Bus route information is subject to change the first few weeks of the school year.
Bus passes will be available for purchase after July 4, 2013 at the Transportation Office located at 812 East Redwood Blvd, Brandon, SD from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Bus passes may also be purchased online through the Brandon Valley School District's WebMall.
Should you have questions concerning busing, please call 582-3514. Our summer hours will be, Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The office will be closed over the lunch hour.
